Ramadan is coming

Asalamulaikum and welcome to the blog I finally managed to get my blog back after being hacked but here we go as you all know ramdan is fast approaching and that means a lot of us will have dates in the house. With Ramadan being a time of year where we remember those who are less fortunate than ourselves I thought I’d do my part in raising awareness on something that particularly in Ramadan affects thousands of people in Palestine. I read a really interesting article about dates and their origins and how big supermarkets are using marketing tactics to fool the customer into believing that the dates they are buying from a particular country when in fact they’re not, Every year, Israel exports millions of pounds worth of dates to the world, which many people unknowingly buy and use to break their fasts. These dates are grown in illegal settlements in the West Bank and the Jordan Valley, on land that has been stolen from Palestinians.
